Developments and Disputes in Shipping

Mike Robarts of the IMarEST East of England Branch will be speaking as part of a panel of speakers who include Fellows of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers on Developments and Disputes in Shipping. IMarEST particpates in Joint Meetings organised by the Honourable Company of Master Mariners and all IMarEST members are welcome to attend.
Chris Hibbert FICS is the Chairman of the London Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and will talk about Bills of Lading in dry cargo shipping
Capt Mike Robarts FICS MIMarEST is a pilot bringing large vessels into ports on the East coast of England and also heads the Honourable Company of Master Mariners Technology and the Environment Working Group. He provides an introduction to the evening and will discuss ship technology developments.
Richard Scott FICS is a shipping market analyst and lecturer on the MSc maritime operations and management programme at City, University of London. He provides an insight into newbuilding order trends in the global merchant ship fleet.
Jeffrey Blum FICS FCIArb is a lecturer, an active arbitrator under the terms of LMAA and SCMA, as well as the Chairman of the Baltic [Exchange] Expert Witness Association. Jeffrey will talk about Early Neutral Evaluation and Intervention (prior to or instead of mediation, arbitration & litigation)

The panel of speakers include a mix of experienced shipping business professionals, a Master Mariner and an arbitrator.
