This webinar describes the use of operational numerical models in the recovery of Missing Persons for the Police. In these Search and Recovery as opposed to Search and Rescue operations, a number of parameters (buoyancy, time of entry, location) can be varied to produce probability maps of strandings to help optimise police searches on the ground. A number of cases examples will be shown showing successes and failures.
