LECTURE: Learning from Everyday Work

IMarEST TV recording by the Auckland Branch on the 29th March 2023. This lecture was presented by Brent Sutton.

Safety and safety management is now a large focus of everyday life and a critical part of every working endeavour. Delivering a safe working environment consistently requires more than a cookbook approach. The Learning Teams and Learning from Everyday Work approach breaks the topdown cookie cutter approach. It ensures that those who do the work, and who are exposed to the risks, understand and are intelligently engaged and contribute strategic advantage through understanding normal work.

Learning from Everyday Work and The Practice of Learning Teams are a practice and framework that can be employed to improve safety, generate performance and enable the workforce to meaningfully contribute to Human and Organisational Performance and ultimately strategy.
