South Australia Branch restarts technical lecture series

South Australia Branch is in session again and so far in 2023 has held three excellent joint meetings with RINA South Australia:

19 April 2023 -The Australian Future Submarine Multiverse: Between Myths and Realities - SAAB & Shipbuilding – Surface Ships

Presented by Lars Ronnquist & Johan Aaserud, the talk covered the development of surface combatant vessels designed by SAAB, covering the Company’s historical roots, the Global and Australian operations, and the areas of warship design in which the Company is active today.

17 May 2023 - SAAB & Shipbuilding – Submarines 

Lars and Johan returned to discuss the development of submarine design, covering the Company’s presence in Australia, the evolution of its design including the Collins Class submarine, today's modular submarine design, submarine escape and rescue and the future of submarines.

5 June 2023 - The Future Australian Submarine – Multiverse between Myth & Realties

Associate Professor Eric Fusil covered Short Term – Understanding the SSN mindset, Middle Term – Preparing for the Australian SSN, and Long term – Design/Build SSNs.
