Swinburne University IMarEST Prizes

The annual Swinburne University Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology Scholarship and Prizes ceremony on 7th May 2019 saw the award for the first time of Victoria Branch IMarEST prizes for maritime industry related science and engineering projects. The winners were; Science: Jie Mao, Isolation and identification of potential bacteria involved in biocorrosion from estuary and exploring the effect of sodium chloride on bacterial growth, and Engineering: Georgia Albert and Jason Thompson, Environmental impacts of ocean wave energy converters. Victoria Branch Chairman Doug Stevens, FIMarEST presented the prizes on behalf of the branch - top left Jason Thompson, bottom left Georgia Albert, bottom right Jie Mao.
