Synopsis
The webinar describes the features, systems, and equipment utilised on an LNG Bunkering Vessel. It also covers a description of the vessel’s operation, in principle, along with a discussion about some of the pitfalls.
About the Speaker
Bill started his career as a Shell Apprentice Engineer. His first trip to sea was on the Methane Progress. He spent most of his seagoing career with oil majors Shell and BP and rose to the rank of Chief Engineer Officer. He holds a combined First-Class Certificate of Competency issued by the BOT / MCA. The great majority of his sea service was completed on LNG tankers. In 2006, he came ashore as an LNG Technical Superintendent for NGSCo in Abu Dhabi followed by LNG superintendency roles for Thome Ship Management and BP in Singapore. Currently, he is in a business development role as LNG Technical Authority for Bernhard Schulte Group’s LNG Competence Centre in Hamburg.
During his career, he has been involved in vessel’s operation, technical supervision, dry dockings, new builds, steam turbine overhauls, main and auxiliary diesel engine overhauls, high-pressure boiler retubing, major hull repairs. He also acted as the owner’s representative and superintendent for the conversion, commissioning, and operation of the first two FSRU conversions completed in the world. Additionally, he spent some time in Brunei working in the E & P department of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn. Bhd, in well services and digitisation projects.
