WEBINAR: Prevention Technique for Cyber Threat on Naval Assets
IMarEST TV recording from the Naval Engineering Special Interest Group on the 10th March 2023. This webinar was presented by Commander Rakesh Gosain of the Indian Navy and Aarzoo Gosain.
In today’s digital age, where war on the cyber front seems inescapable, even the closed-loop secured naval systems are not immune from imminent cyber threats. Every second, a massive number of files are being transferred via the network and it is impossible to open and check every file for its potential effects on the system. Hence, there is an increasing need for a quick and efficient method of 'file checking without opening' to ensure the security of naval systems and prevent the spread of malware in them.
By removing the suspected files from the network traffic and allowing the transfer of the safe files, secured communication is established on an integrated command and control network. This presentation looks at what measures are being and can be taken to prevent hostile cyber activity from disrupting naval operations and threatening military assets around the world.
