Ian discusses the maritime industry’s approach to vessel crack repair. While repair techniques have remained static for many years, structural composites such as Sandwich Plate System (SPS) offer a cost competitive alternative.

Structural maintenance on vessels is growing both in terms of demand and complexity. In order to maintain vessel integrity, crop and renewal has been the traditional method employed for repair of cracks in vessel steelwork. This can be costly and time consuming.
